Probably, many have heard that high testosterone levels are associated with increased sexuality in men. And by what external signs can you determine that a man has increased testosterone?

"Real male"
It is testosterone that contributes to the formation of the skeleton, muscle mass, is responsible for erection and fertility (a man's ability to conceive). Men with high testosterone levels usually have a low, masculine voice and well-developed muscles. The body and face may have increased hairiness. But on the head, hair can, on the contrary, fall out. This is where the myth comes from that bald men are the sexiest. Women tend to be attracted to men with high testosterone levels, as they look like "real males." However, a large amount of testosterone in the male body is not always good.
This insidious free testosterone
The fact is that a man's blood can contain free testosterone, which actively penetrates into the cells. Normally, the amount of free, non-protein-bound testosterone should not exceed 2%. But sometimes this level is increased. There can be many reasons: lack of sleep, unhealthy diet, irregular sexual relations, tumors in the adrenal glands or genitals, endocrine pathologies, uncontrolled intake of certain medications. Often, increased testosterone is found in professional bodybuilders trying to build muscle mass using anabolic steroids and anabolic steroids. The presence of excess testosterone in the body is called hyperandrogenism. Such men are characterized by impulsiveness, aggression, increased excitability and irritability, mood swings, and a tendency to take risks. In addition, they are often characterized by increased sexual activity and at the same time a tendency to constantly change partners. In some cases, hyperandrogenism leads to alcohol and drug addiction, to suicidal tendencies. Rashes in the form of purulent acne may appear on the body, frequent headaches, insomnia may occur. "Raging" testosterone can also provoke liver pathologies, cardiovascular diseases such as arterial hypertension, thrombosis or heart attack. A man may gain weight, increase his cholesterol level. Finally, excess testosterone can lead to erectile dysfunction, infertility and prostate cancer. Studies have shown that "high testosterone" men age earlier and die faster.
How to normalize testosterone levels?
If a man has symptoms that were uncharacteristic for him before - excessive aggression, hair growth, uncontrolled sexual desire - it is recommended to be examined by an endocrinologist. If an excess of the main male hormone is found, drug therapy may be prescribed. In some cases (for example, if the cause is a tumor), surgery is performed. The patient may also be advised to adhere to a healthier sleep, rest and nutritional regimen, avoid physical and nervous overload, and regularly have sexual intercourse with a regular partner. To reduce testosterone levels to normal, it is also recommended to adhere to an appropriate diet: there are more salty foods and foods high in phytoestrogens - female sex hormones that inhibit the secretion of testosterone. The latter include flaxseed oil, soybeans, red grapes, eggs, full-fat milk, hop and clover infusions. But foods containing starch and glucose should be excluded from the diet. You should also refrain from meat. It is useful to drink strong tea and coffee - caffeine destroys free testosterone. However, it is not worth eating in this way for a long time - a new hormonal imbalance may occur, which will lead to various pathologies. Of course, if you just look manly, this is not a cause for concern. The alarm should be sounded only when there are obvious "anomalies" in appearance and behavior. Remember, hormones are not a joke!
