“There have been five cases of serious side effects associated with anaphylactic reaction and have been effectively treated. And one more case, for which there is no final documentation on its connection with vaccinations,”said the chairman of the National Vaccination Committee, Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics Maria Theodoridou at a briefing.
At the same time, according to Theodoridou, the interim results of immunization in Greece "are fully consistent with world scientific data."
According to the state secretary general of primary health care, Mariaso Themistocleous, the rate of immunization is increasing. He noted that Greece currently outperforms the average coronavirus vaccine coverage rate compared to other European countries. In Greece, vaccination takes place with a drug from Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. However, since last week they started using the AstraZeneca vaccine. This medication is used only for the 60 to 64 age group.
