The study of the diet of the population is carried out every five years. This is not a whim, but an urgent need. Based on the data obtained, important social decisions are made. The menu of children in educational institutions is being adjusted, taxes on unhealthy foods are being introduced, and much more.
The study will clarify the pattern of individual food consumption by residents of the Rostov region, the nutritional and energy value of their menu.
“When conducting a survey in 2018, for the first time, anthropometric measurements of human height and weight will be used to compare with the body's need for the energy and biological value of the diet of the population. Accordingly, the interviewers of Rostovstat are equipped with measuring instruments: electronic scales and a device for measuring height,”the Rostovstat noted.
The study involves residents of 18 urban and 17 rural settlements of the region; interviewers will interview owners of 980 households.
