Scientists from the University of Michigan have found that cinnamon can help you lose weight. The corresponding study was published on the website of the educational institution.

In experiments on mice, it turned out that brown aldehyde - the substance that gives cinnamon its taste and color - prevents the development of obesity and hyperglycemia in animals. This component directly affects fat cells (adipocytes), causing them to burn energy through the process of thermogenesis.
It turned out that under the influence of brown aldehyde, the number of genes and enzymes responsible for lipid metabolism increased, as well as the amount of proteins Ucp1 and Fgf21, which play an important role in fat burning.
Thus, cinnamon, which is widely used in the food industry, can be an effective tool in the fight against excess weight, but before you start using this spice for weight loss, you should wait until the end of the research, experts say.
