What is Observation? Translated from Latin this is "observation", in medicine this term is called a complex of restrictive and anti-epidemic measures aimed at localizing and eliminating the focus of infectious diseases. In the region, an observational center is being created in parallel with the deployment of additional covid beds in hospitals, explained the Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako. "It is intended for patients with mild forms of COVID-19 who do not have the opportunity to undergo treatment at home," said the head of the region, adding that such a center will start working next week in Vladivostok. Additional beds On the eve of the National Unity Day, on Tuesday, November 3, Oleg Kozhemyako checked the work of equipping an additional 140 beds for the treatment of patients with coronavirus in the hospitals of the regional center. The Governor visited the Regional Clinical Hospital 2 (formerly the Fishermen's Hospital), where the premises are now being renovated. According to the head physician Svetlana Beniova, by December 1, the clinic will have 100 covid beds. “The hospital has already provided one hundred and five beds for patients with coronavirus. To increase the bed capacity, it is necessary to mount a security and fire alarm system, oxygen concentrators,”said the head physician. And in the Vladivostok Clinical Hospital 1, an additional 40 beds to the existing 30 for the treatment of patients with COVID-19 will start working within a week - for these purposes, the gynecology department is used. As the chief physician Yevgeny Shestopalov reported to the governor, the hospital is currently undergoing repairs, equipment is being placed, staff is being recruited. Observatory for students In addition, an observatory will appear in the city, designed for students with mild respiratory diseases who have encountered problems when settling in a hostel. The governor gave such an order at a meeting of the regional operational headquarters on Tuesday, November 3. Oleg Kozhemyako noted that there are often cases when nonresident students with mild forms of the disease are forced to stay in the hospital longer than they should be due to the fact that they cannot comply with the isolation regime. To take care of the health of this category of patients, as well as to unload the bed fund, the head of the Primorsky Territory ordered the creation of an observatory in Vladivostok for 50-70 beds. “Students or cadets who cannot live in a family can be accommodated there, but they are not allowed into the hostel. Of course, there will be a doctor on duty at the observatory, who will ensure that the necessary course of treatment is completed,”Oleg Kozhemyako stressed. Another proposal of the governor is aimed at helping parents - the head of the region spoke in favor of creating round-the-clock kindergartens in large cities of Primorye. “We have married couples where the husband and wife work in hospitals, the shifts can overlap, and they need to leave their children somewhere. In addition, all adults in a family can become ill with a severe or moderate form, and grandparents will not be around, so a place for children must be provided at least in Vladivostok, as well as in Ussuriisk and Nakhodka,”instructed Oleg Kozhemyako. Meanwhile, the high alert regime continues to operate in Primorye. Residents of the region must comply with all the necessary sanitary and epidemiological requirements: avoid visiting particularly crowded places, wear a mask, especially in public transport and trade establishments, adhere to a "social distance", keep hands and surfaces clean.
