Virologists said that some Russians may need to be re-vaccinated against the coronavirus if the first injection of the vaccine has not yielded any results. Professor, head of the laboratory of biology and indication of arboviruses of the Federal State Institution "Research Institute of Virology named after Ivanovsky" Alexander Butenko noted that it strongly depends on the level of antibodies in the human body - it is individual for everyone.

The specialist noted that it is not yet known how much antibodies are retained in the body. According to him, this will become known during the vaccination campaign.

But it is possible that three vaccinations will have to be done. As, for example, against tick-borne encephalitis: they provide for two vaccinations in the fall with a break of a month, and the third - in the spring, before the season of the incidence of encephalitis, - said the virologist.

Doctor of Medical Sciences, virologist Anatoly Altstein called shorter periods of repeated vaccination. According to him, if the required antibody titer has not been developed in the body, then re-vaccination must be completed in three weeks. The physician stressed that this does not pose any threat to the human body.

In addition, both specialists came to the conclusion that it is permissible to put different drugs for coronavirus. In particular, Sputnik V and KoviVak, the latter of which has not yet entered the large market, reports URA.RU.

Earlier NEWS.ru wrote that the situation with the incidence of coronavirus in Russia is improving. This was reported by the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Russian Federation Melita Vujnovich.
