People who have not developed enough antibodies after vaccination or recovery from coronavirus should additionally be vaccinated against COVID-19. This was stated by the acting director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Research Institute of Influenza. A. A. Smorodintsev "of the Ministry of Health of Russia Dmitry Lioznov.
According to him, it is assumed that within a year or two years, specialists will be able to vaccinate all risk groups, as well as patients who have had the disease, and those people who, after vaccination, have formed an insufficient immune response to COVID-19.
“Accordingly, they also need to be vaccinated again or vaccinated after an illness. The only difficulty is that we do not yet have criteria on the basis of which we must vaccinate those who have been ill,”TASS quotes him.
Lioznov added that the need for re-vaccination against COVID-19 depends on the level of immunoglobulin in the blood, the body's cellular response, as well as a number of other factors.
Earlier, Lioznov said that new mutations of the coronavirus are transmitted more easily, but do not cause a more severe course of the disease.
