Country leaders must work together to fight the pandemic and accelerate production of COVID-19 drugs to finally defeat the disease. This was stated by Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus.
We are experiencing an exceptional moment in history, and we must face this challenge. We need to be ready to share drugs [from coronavirus with other countries], transfer technology [production] and give up intellectual property rights,”Gebreyesus wrote in a column for The Guardian.
He added that a pandemic in this sense has a lot to do with war - it is necessary to mobilize all forces to fight and think not only about yourself. Gebreyesus also recalled that epidemiological measures have caused serious damage to small and large businesses.
As NEWS.ru reported, the World Health Organization (WHO) marks a crisis of confidence in coronavirus vaccination around the world. If it fails, it will have a disastrous effect on all other immunization programs.
