Sudden jumps in atmospheric pressure from high to low and back are sometimes called "baric saw" by meteorologists. The pressure graph during such periods is similar to the teeth of a tool.
A number of people experience serious ailments during the "baric saw". Russian cardiologist Yuri Serebryansky explained to the radio "Moscow speaking" that most often people with diseases of the cardiovascular system, vegetative-vascular dystonia, as well as diseases of the central and autonomic nervous system suffer from meteorological dependence.
For people suffering from arterial hypotension (hypotension), the doctor advises, in case of ailments caused by sudden changes in the weather, to drink some strong tea or coffee. For hypertensive patients (people with arterial hypertension), the cardiologist recommends that in such weather, carefully monitor blood pressure. If necessary, they should take medications prescribed by the doctor to reduce it.
Serebryansky noted that it is not worthwhile to self-medicate without the need. About what medications and in what dosage should be taken with pressure drops, he recommends consulting your doctor.
Earlier, "Profile" wrote about how during the "baric saw" it is best to eat weather-dependent people. Yuri Gurfinkel, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Medical Research and Educational Center of Lomonosov Moscow State University, shared his recommendations.
