Regular consumption of chicken eggs reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. This is the conclusion reached by British and Chinese scientists.
According to ScienceDaily, 416 thousand residents of the "Celestial Empire" aged 30-79 years participated in the study. For four years, volunteers talked about how often they ate eggs, and doctors monitored their health.
For nine years of observation, doctors have registered about 84 thousand cases of cardiovascular diseases, of which about 10 thousand were fatal. After examining the statistics, scientists found that those who ate at least five eggs a week were 28 percent less likely to die from hemorrhagic stroke and 18 percent less likely to die from cardiovascular disease, compared with those who ate no more than two eggs a week. In addition, lovers of omelet and scrambled eggs were 12 percent less likely to suffer from coronary heart disease.
