The general director of the company for research, development and registration of drugs, immunologist Nikolai Kryuchkov said that there are no high-quality influenza vaccines on the Russian market. According to him, this year it is very difficult to find the necessary drugs on sale, the Public Television of Russia (OTR) reports with reference to the radio station Moscow Says.
“There are now fewer vaccines, and in particular, some of the best vaccines are now, shall we say, not on the market. At least they are very difficult to get,”said the immunologist.
By mid-October, 35 million people in Russia had been vaccinated against influenza. According to the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, this year the rate of vaccination has surpassed the rates of last year. At the same time, the Russians will be able to make injections for another 2.5 months.
As OTP reported, influenza vaccines are supplied to the regions at the expense of the federal budget. The program is expected to reach over 60% of the country's population.
