Many experience a breakdown in the spring. Fatigue, lethargy, loss of appetite, drowsiness and pale skin are all symptoms of spring apathy. In the morning you don't want to open your eyes, and the working day seems endless. Should we be afraid of this and what can be done to regain the joy of life?
What happened with me?
Spring apathy is a temporary phenomenon, often caused by too high loads against the background of vitamin deficiency and a lack of solar energy. It is a defense mechanism by which your body signals to you that it needs a break. Therefore, you should not be afraid of apathy and attach too much importance to it, although in some cases apathy may be the result of another, more serious malaise and even illness. The strategy for dealing with apathy should be as follows: we do everything to support our body, but if the apathy does not go away within two weeks, we start sounding the alarm and make an appointment with the doctor. Start with a therapist and get tested, and it is also worthwhile to visit an endocrinologist: check the thyroid gland, hormones and blood sugar levels.
In fact, apathy is not always a seasonal phenomenon. People experience a similar condition after a serious illness or prolonged emotional upsurge, prolonged physical stress in combination with a lack of sleep. It happens that apathy is encountered after passing a session or responsible work, which took a lot of energy and made you feel anxious, after a long-awaited event, as a result of emotional devastation, and in some other cases.
If you are faced with apathy, then in no case should you dismiss your condition and continue with an effort of will to live at a tense pace. Live a little as if you were already sick - give your body a rest.
Step one. Sparing mode
Cancel all undo cases. If possible, take a few days off and sleep off, or at least take work home. In general, create yourself the most gentle working regime.
Step two. More light!
Treat yourself with the sun: just go outside for at least an hour a day and expose your face to the sun's rays. Use your lunch break if there are no other options. Better, of course, to walk, but if you don't have the strength to do this, then you can sit on a bench - it will still be useful.
Step three. What to drink and eat
Arrange for yourself enhanced vitamin therapy. Drink a good vitamin complex, support yourself with herbal teas. A decoction of wild rose with a spoonful of honey is excellent. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables: fiber will spur digestion and make the excretory system work more actively, getting rid of toxins. It is very good to add sprouted cereal grains to vegetable salads. It is a biologically active product and it contains live energy and valuable nutrients that restore the body at the cellular level.
Avoid eating strong tea and coffee, too much caffeine can be bad for your heart. Green tea is an excellent tonic. A few drops of tincture of ginseng or eleutherococcus will help you to shake yourself in the morning. There are several other natural preparations, such as pantocrine and mummy, that help restore strength and spur the body's resistance, but it is still better to consult a doctor before using them.
Don't forget about the "products of joy." After all, as the famous phrase goes, life is great when the right antidepressants are used. It is widely known that certain foods help in the production of substances that are "responsible" for the emotional state. This is an endorphin, which is called the hormone of happiness and serotonin, which controls a good mood. Foods containing a large amount of B vitamins have a similar effect, as well as those that normalize the levels of magnesium and zinc in the blood. Probably everyone knows about chocolate and bananas that bring joy. Mood-boosting foods also include hard cheeses, sea creepers, seaweed, fatty fish, broccoli, lean beef, turkey breast, chili peppers, almonds, seeds, blueberries, papaya and even oatmeal!
Step four. Positive emotions
Pamper yourself! A warm bath with herbs or aromatic oils, scented candles, a good book or movie can help bring back the feeling of joy in life. Fix it. And try, as soon as the mood spoils, to remember something good again and again. The auto-training that was so popular with our parents is now forgotten, but it really can work wonders!
It is trite, but many diseases are really from the nerves, and also from bad thoughts. Once you readjust yourself to be positive, things will go well. Use a relaxation technique. Perform several slow, deep circular movements with your head and shoulders to release any build-up of tension in your neck. Then, with your eyes closed, try to completely relax your muscles and imagine yourself in some pleasant place, better in nature. Imagine yourself as the master of this world. You are completely safe here. Draw more and more new details, show your imagination, imagine the sounds and smells of this world. This exercise has an unusually beneficial effect on the psyche and gives a very high-quality short rest to the nervous system.
Mikhail Ivanov, a medical psychologist at the Mental Health Center and a specialist at the Christmas family center, told the World 24 correspondent that positive thinking prevents the harmful effects of stress on our body. “The psychosomatic aspect is that the influence of our thinking on our body is extremely great, and bad thoughts definitely affect our health,” he said. - If a person does not catastrophize reality and looks into the future with faith, his psyche is safer, his psycho-emotional state is more stable. On the contrary, a negative way of thinking eats away from the inside and acts according to the mechanism of stress, that is, we ourselves cause stress in ourselves with our own emotions. As a result, ulcers, neurodermatitis, vascular diseases, urolithiasis occur. As a reaction to distress, other somatic disorders arise."
To positively perceive every day you live, do this mental exercise: every night before going to bed, remember at least 7-10 pleasant moments that made you happy that day.
Get started planning your vacation! This will tune in to a completely different wave, and you will gradually feel how the blues and weakness recede, and you want to live on. You can also just fall in love!
