About two million people have undergone two stages of vaccination with Sputnik V in Russia. The same number of patients received the first injection. Such rates of large-scale vaccination were assessed by the head of the laboratory of biotechnology and virology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Novosibirsk State University, molecular biologist Sergei Netesov on the air of NSN.

- We are probably in the fourth ten countries in terms of the percentage of vaccinated. I think it's not so much about the pace as about the fact that there is not enough vaccine, because it still needs to be produced, - explained Netesov.
At the same time, he noted how the rate of vaccination can be increased. For example, in his opinion, it makes no sense to vaccinate against coronavirus for those who have already been ill, since they have already developed immunity.
- This will save a lot of vaccines. But at least 20 percent of the population suffered the infection. It suffered, and did not get sick - these are the so-called asymptomatic patients. Why waste so much vaccine? To end the epidemic, the total number of vaccinated and infected must be at least 70 percent, the virologist added.
According to him, many residents of Russia are in no hurry to get vaccinated because they have a great lack of information about Sputnik V.
