In connection with the information of the Federal Tourism Agency about the threat to the health of tourists in Turkey, Rospotrebnadzor published a memo on the prevention of the Coxsackie virus and other enterovirus infections. The corresponding message is posted on the website of the department.
“The Coxsackie virus belongs to enterovirus infections. Enteroviruses tolerate low temperatures well and remain in water. The source of infection is only a person - a sick or healthy carrier. The virus infects small children very effectively when a small dose gets in with water, food, through dirty toys, hands,”it was reported.
In order to prevent diseases of enteroviruses, Rospotrebnadzor recommends: follow the rules of personal hygiene and wash hands thoroughly; drink only boiled water or bottled water; comply with food storage conditions, eat foods with known shelf life; wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly; restrict the admission of children to swimming pools and baby clubs in hotels where the virus has been recorded.
In addition, Rospotrebnadzor recommends seeking medical help at the first signs of deterioration in health.
