By 2019, all Russian doctors will be recommended to work according to the national system of clinical guidelines for major diseases. This was reported by Izvestia with reference to data obtained from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the standards will be of a recommendatory nature, but in the future it is planned to make them mandatory. In controversial situations, the physician will have to explain the deviation from the rules.
New clinical guidelines are enshrined in Federal Law 323 "On the basics of health protection" and offer specific actions in the treatment of major diseases, in particular, they contain medications that can be prescribed to the patient, methods of diagnosis and treatment. At the end of last year, the department created an electronic rubricator of clinical recommendations and a system for quick search for diagnostic and treatment algorithms.
“Clinical guidelines are developed by the entire professional community. They can help, especially young professionals, to make the right decision, tell about new drugs, diagnostic methods. But at the same time, the characteristics of each patient must be taken into account. Doctors should rely on the proposed methods of treatment, but they cannot become a dogma,”said Vice-President of the National Medical Chamber Sergei Dorofeev. The final decision-making power will remain with the physician.
