Several techniques will help you cope with nighttime binge eating. They were named to Izvestia by Lyudmila Denisenko, a member of the Russian National Society of Nutritionists.
In case of a sudden attack of hunger in the evening, the doctor advised to drink a glass of still water at room temperature. If this does not help, it is better to have a snack with kefir or warm milk with spices: cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, a teaspoon of honey. As a last resort, you can make toast with cheese, ham, cottage cheese or meat. Tea, juice and coffee should be avoided as they stimulate the appetite.
A healthy lifestyle should also help. For example, before going to bed, it is better not to read news and depressing literature, which can lead a person to an agitated and nervous state. Instead, take a bath, wear warm socks, play with your pet, and watch a romantic comedy. Yoga in the evenings has shown itself well in the fight against gluttony.
“If you have no plans in the evening other than watching TV, then the chances of eating something harmful after ten in the evening greatly increase,” the nutritionist said.
