Palestine received as a gift from Israel about 2,000 syringe tubes containing the American coronavirus vaccine. Tel Aviv has promised to donate 3,000 more doses of the medicine that is now so much needed. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority held talks with Russia on the supply of about 100,000 doses of Sputnik V.

Mai Al-Qila, Palestinian Minister of Health:
"The vaccine given to us is an American drug Moderna. It was received by us as part of a humanitarian action from Israel. According to the World Health Organization, this drug is considered to meet all safety standards. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow we will receive a batch of Russian vaccine and continue the vaccination campaign with the help of Sputnik V ".
Tawfiq Abu Laila, Palestinian:
"It is good that we received this vaccine. We thank every person who wants to help our people, every foreign country, every Arab state. I believe that this vaccine is the medicine we need to defeat the disease."
Aisha Salem, Palestinian:
"This vaccine is good. But as of today, vaccinations are given only to medical personnel, not to all people."
The first vaccinations with the COVID-19 vaccine were given at the Hugo Chavez Hospital. In addition to health workers, the first, as in other countries, will receive the injection of elderly people over 60 years old. Mai Al-Qila believes it will take several more months for large-scale vaccinations to bear fruit.
