MOSCOW, January 3 - RIA Novosti. Infectious disease specialist Yevgeny Timakov, in an interview with RBC, warned Russians about contraindications for vaccination against coronavirus infection.
In particular, during the COVID-19 vaccination, the patient should not have symptoms of respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and exacerbations of chronic diseases.
"A person should not have any manifestations of ARVI: runny nose, cough, fever, malaise," Timakov emphasized.
The specialist urged not to abuse alcohol three days before and after the introduction of the vaccine into the body - it is permissible to "drink a couple of glasses." At the same time, one should be careful with heavy foods and junk food, as well as psychologically prepare for the vaccination.
"If a patient is very worried, his blood pressure may rise. During vaccination, naturally, adrenaline and stress hormones are released, this additionally affects the blood vessels. As a result, a person may feel dizzy and may lose consciousness," the doctor explained.
An infectious disease specialist advises people who are prone to allergic reactions to take antihistamines the day before and one day after the vaccination. If you are prone to fever, you can take a paracetamol tablet at night after vaccination.
In addition, for several weeks before the injection, it is recommended to limit contacts as much as possible so as not to get infected with coronavirus while immunity is being formed.
Civil vaccination against COVID-19 began in Russia in December. So far, only one vaccine is available - Sputnik V, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in cooperation with RDIF. The drug is based on the well-studied platform of the human adenovirus vector. According to the results of data analysis at the final control point in the post-registration study, it showed an efficiency of 91.4 percent, and for severe cases - one hundred percent.
Other vaccines are also being developed: "EpiVacCorona", created by the Novosibirsk center "Vector", is now undergoing post-registration trials, and the drug of the Chumakov Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations of the Russian Academy of Sciences may receive registration in February.
First of all, they began to vaccinate people from the main risk groups: doctors, teachers, social workers, later they added employees of the MFC, cultural institutions, trade and service enterprises, transport, energy, industry and the media, the construction complex, volunteers and university students, and colleges. People over 18 years of age can be vaccinated if they do not have chronic diseases listed in the list of contraindications, they have not been vaccinated in the last 30 days and have not had ARVI. Vaccination is contraindicated for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
