Doctor of psychology, clinical psychologist Artur Garaganov told how to lose weight after long holidays and get rid of apathy.
According to him, one should not rush to go on a strict diet, since any fasting is stressful for the body. After the permissive regime, when you could eat everything without any restrictions, it is especially difficult to start shedding excess weight. In this case, the main danger lies in the fact that a person is not ready for this either mentally or physiologically.
The specialist advised first of all to adjust the intake of carbohydrates.
A large amount of carbohydrate food keeps water in the body. We always want something else sweet that will quickly satisfy our need for pleasure - which will provide a quick release of the hormone of pleasure. You need to act gradually - to reduce the dose of carbohydrates by at least half, - he explained.
Garaganov noted that lethargy and apathy can occur due to an excess of carbohydrates in the diet, so it is necessary to switch to a healthier diet. So, fatty, high-calorie and flour food most often leads to stagnation, giving strength only at the moment when a person consumes it, and also causes a short-lived euphoric effect.
Then there is a decline, lethargy. Lethargy can be the result of the absence of certain chemicals or an excessive amount of carbohydrates, the expert said.
At the same time, he stressed that in addition to a balanced diet, it is important to have the right psychological attitude and motivation. According to him, often people are ready to lose weight after the holidays, not just for their own sake, but for the sake of someone from their relatives and colleagues who will see them after the resumption of the work process. Some people lose weight to achieve athletic performance.
