Such well-known intracellular elements as potassium and magnesium also play a role in this process. For example, while studying myocardial infarction, doctors noticed that in the myocardium of people who died from cardiovascular diseases, magnesium is almost two times less.

According to its presence in a healthy body (21-28 g), magnesium, along with calcium, sodium and potassium, is included in the first four minerals, and in terms of content inside the cell it takes the second place after potassium. Thanks to magnesium, the level of seratonin, the hormone of happiness, increases. The daily requirement for adults in magnesium (310-420 mg) increases during pregnancy and lactation by 20-30 percent, and for athletes - up to 450 mg. You can provide it, for example, by eating 450 grams of spinach or 200 grams of seaweed daily. Or - about 1.5 kilos of beef or potatoes.

The role of potassium has also been scientifically proven, a low level of which contributes to the occurrence of arrhythmias, heart failure and stroke.

Potassium is the main element of every living cell, participates in the processes of energy production, synthesis of proteins and carbohydrates. The reason for the decrease in potassium levels can be the use of certain medications (diuretics or hormonal drugs, caffeine), prolonged diarrhea and vomiting. And also the abuse of alcohol, sugar and sugary carbonated drinks. This is manifested by a constant feeling of fatigue, sleep disturbance, anxiety, blood pressure surges, arrhythmia. At the same time, several independent studies have shown that increasing the daily intake of potassium by 10 mmol reduces the relative risk of stroke by 40 percent.
