Representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Department of Healthcare visited Veresaev's hospital with an inspection. Experts assessed the quality of medical care for the adult population on the endocrinological profile within the framework of the national project "Development of a set of priority measures aimed at reducing the mortality rate of the population from endocrine diseases, including diabetes mellitus." The organization of the work of the endocrinological service was also assessed taking into account the epidemiological situation. The endocrinological service of the Veresaev hospital has existed for almost 50 years. Today it is an alliance of outpatient and inpatient units. The head department is the endocrinology department of the hospital, which is headed by endocrinologist Anna Andreeva. In the endocrinology department, diagnostics and treatment of diabetes mellitus, diseases of the thyroid gland, hypothalamic-pituitary, reproductive systems, adrenal glands, obesity, disorders of phosphorus-calcium metabolism, osteoporosis are carried out. The hospital has state-of-the-art high-tech medical care tools: for example, patients are being installed with a continuous blood glucose monitoring system with real-time data analysis and a pump for continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion. “The endocrinology department of Veresaev Hospital has been the base of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetology of the Faculty of Additional Professional Education of the Pirogov Medical University for many years. Combining the advanced achievements of medical science and medical practice makes it possible to ensure a high level of quality of medical care”, - comments the results of the inspection, chief freelance endocrinologist of the Moscow Health Department Mikhail Antsiferov. The specialist also called the endocrinology department of the Veresaev hospital one of the most advanced in Moscow, especially emphasizing the experience of the endocrine service of the clinic in the fight against complications of diabetes mellitus and the use of high technologies in the therapeutic sector: blood glucose monitoring systems. Such assistance is not available in all hospitals and not all endocrinologists are proficient in such techniques, since their application requires a certain qualification, experience and responsibility from specialists. " Specialists paid special attention to the analysis of the work of the endocrinological service of the Veresaev hospital in a difficult epidemiological situation: the department has been functioning in the adjusted mode for several months. “The system of dilution of patient flows implemented in the clinic, taking into account the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection, is impressive,” says Gagik Galstyan, Doctor of Medical Sciences, endocrinologist, diabetologist, head of the diabetic foot department of the Endocrinological Scientific Center of the Ministry of Health. - In the Veresaev hospital, a model has been developed that minimizes the likelihood of infection of patients and staff. This makes it possible to carry out not only emergency, but also planned hospitalizations, which in turn reduces the likelihood of subsequent emergency hospitalizations. "The endocrinological service of the Veresaev hospital closely interacts with other departments of the hospital, in particular, with general, purulent, vascular, X-ray endovascular surgery. On the basis of the interdisciplinary team of these departments, the Center for the Diabetic Foot was created in the clinic. “The model of complex work of outpatient and inpatient services created at the Veresaev hospital ensures effective interaction of specialists of various profiles - vascular, endovascular, purulent surgeons, endocrinologists, which has made it possible to significantly reduce high amputations of the lower extremities. Not all specialized services show such results, but it is well implemented and works in practice. It is good that there is an opportunity to provide assistance to patients with surgical endocrine pathology from thyroid diseases to adrenal diseases. This is also extremely important,”summed up Gagik Galstyan.
