Getting used to office work after months of remote work can take at least one to two weeks. Anna Ermolaeva, head of the distance counseling sector of the Emergency Psychological Aid Center of the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, spoke about this.

According to her, it is worth preparing in advance for returning to the office and restoring the daily routine.

“As a rule, the first thing that suffers on a remote work schedule is sleep and rest. A person is used to going to bed later, getting up at a more comfortable time for himself. It is important to start preparation with this very thing - so as not to wake up on Monday with horror and fatigue, "Ermolaeva recommended in an interview with the Moscow city news agency.

In addition, according to her, it is necessary to restore the previous level of physical activity, so that "the body does not reject the work as something unbearable."

To avoid stress, Ermolaeva noted, limiting the range of tasks in the first week can help, it is important to "stretch" the load for a week if the schedule allows it, otherwise burnout is possible. She also advised to introduce into the workflow the usual formats of remote control: to continue video conferencing and video meetings, to use electronic communication methods.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the remote work mode for at least 30% of employees is no longer mandatory and will be advisory in nature. The decision on whether to take workers to offices or keep the remote will now be made by the heads of enterprises and organizations.
