In a pandemic, the help of volunteers is felt everywhere. They help to monitor the wearing of masks, distribute medicines and food, and support doctors. In Odintsovo near Moscow, for example, activists have taken over part of the duties of doctors, according to the TV channel "360". Volunteers who came to the aid of doctors take calls at the call center. This line was launched to inform people about the results of coronavirus tests. And while it works, the phone is not silent. Patients give their first and last name, and the operator searches the database for their results. "It is very difficult to tell a person that he has a positive [test] for coronavirus. For me every time it’s like the first time. This feeling is very difficult. I have already had a coronavirus, so I decided to help the doctors. I understand how hard it is," said volunteer Alina Makarenko. The activists answer their calls for several hours - at least four. In the meantime, some are busy with this, others measure the temperature of visitors at the entrance to the hospital, said Marina Volkova, the head nurse of the clinic at the Odintsovo CRH. "Of course, help is needed, extra hands will always come in handy here. It is easier for patients, and doctors as well," she said. Seven volunteers help here every day. The group is created taking into account the employment of everyone, but there are always assistants throughout the working day. Another part of the group, meanwhile, is doing informational work - putting up memos so that patients do not self-medicate. Help in a polyclinic is not everything. For example, after the shift, the guys go to study or to the main headquarters of volunteers throughout the Moscow region. There they are waiting for another call center - for calls with a request to bring food or medicine home to residents of the Moscow region. And here activists share their experience.
