TV presenter, doctor of medical sciences Elena Malysheva on the air of the program "Life is great!" named the most useful foods for human lungs. An excerpt from the episode posted on YouTube.
The superfood list includes broccoli, mackerel and turmeric. The broadcast noted that broccoli contains sulforaphane, a compound that has an anti-tumor effect. Malysheva's co-host, Dr. Dmitry Shubin, noted that a 2018 study in Japan found a direct link between broccoli consumption and a reduced risk of lung cancer.
“Cruciferous plants like broccoli help you fight cancer,”
- noted Shubin.
Mackerel, according to the doctor, contains omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Their anti-inflammatory effect makes bronchial asthma much easier. Turmeric also helps to reduce inflammatory reactions in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Earlier, Malysheva named the most dangerous indoor plants. According to her, the “killer” plants include Dieffenbachia, Monstera and Anthurium. The doctor explained that the first two plants are poisonous, and anthurium secretes substances that, if they come into contact with the skin, can cause a severe allergic reaction.
