The keto diet has many advantages: it improves physical and mental endurance, and decreases hunger, and alleviates the course of certain diseases. Unfortunately, as always, there is one but.

- Quite quickly, somewhere on the 7-8th day from the beginning of the diet, the so-called ketoflu appears: efficiency decreases sharply, fatigue increases, and the smell of acetone from the mouth appears. Gastrointestinal problems may also begin, caused by a lack of fiber and protein. The regular work of the intestines is suspended, so that even dysbiosis is possible. Also, dysfunctions of the pancreas and kidneys are not excluded. The keto diet is especially dangerous for those who suffered from cholelithiasis, the specialist explained.

Further, a person may experience a real series of depressions, followed by irritability. But that's not all: with such a diet, hair can begin to fall out.

- And of course, the craving of people for sweets does not disappear anywhere, many break down precisely because of it and instantly gain all the lost kilograms. By the way, the lost kilograms come back with fat, although during the keto diet a person also loses protein tissue, - the nutritionist notes.

The Queen concluded that before choosing any diet, including a ketogenic one, it is necessary to undergo a thorough examination by a doctor to determine whether a particular diet is right for you.
