Some complications of the new coronavirus infection remain in survivors for life. Young people also get hit. Such conclusions were voiced by the therapist, candidate of medical sciences Andrey Kondrakhin, reports KONKURENT.RU.

The doctor attributed severe weakness to such consequences of the coronavirus. At the same time, the expert noted that this effect is detected mainly in young people. Kondrakhin believes that the reason for this effect is chronic fatigue, which patients suffered even before being infected with COVID-19.

“The body turns out to be worn out anyway, and the coronavirus hits the pain point even harder, because of which the condition worsens,” the doctor explained.

Also, patients who have recovered from a dangerous virus are often observed as a residual symptom and a constant tingling sensation, twisting in the limbs - paresthesia. Kondrakhin named constant chills, a feeling of lack of air and non-recovering sense of smell and taste as common consequences.

Just like the immunologist-allergist Vladimir Bolibok, Kondrakhin ranked high blood pressure among the consequences of the coronavirus. As the expert explained, the reason for this effect is the edema of the vessel, as well as the fact that the substance covering the walls of the vessels after the disease thickens, which leads to a narrowing of the lumen of the blood channel.

In addition, the work of blood vessels also disrupts the immune response of the body of a patient with coronavirus. Moreover, impaired magnesium-calcium metabolism causes hypertension.

At the same time, the expert emphasized that the residual consequences of the coronavirus and their severity depend on a number of factors. These include the patient's age, the severity of the course of COVID-19, as well as the state of the body before being infected with a dangerous virus.

Kondrakhin also stressed that the impact of the coronavirus on the patient's brain does not depend on these factors.
