The Primorsky Territory received 500 doses of the Gam-COVID-Vac vaccine.

A new vaccine against COVID-19 has arrived in Primorye. It is noted that the first to receive a vaccination against a dangerous virus will be doctors from Vladivostok, Nakhodka and Ussuriysk, reports KONKURENT.RU.

First of all, it is planned to vaccinate against coronavirus among health workers who are involved in the "red" zone of infectious diseases hospitals and clinics in the region.

For the procedure, doctors will need to pass tests for COVID-19. The vaccine will be available to those who will not have a dangerous disease. In this case, the vaccination process takes 21 days and the drug is introduced into the human body in two stages.

The “Gam-COVID-Vac” vaccine consists of two components and is administered intramuscularly in two stages. The drug is supplied in vials, each containing five doses. The vaccine is stored in special freezers, with a temperature regime not exceeding 18 degrees of cold. The drug is thawed only half an hour before vaccination. The vaccine is injected into the deltoid muscle of the shoulder or the vastus lateralis muscle. After the administration of the vaccine, the patient must be under the supervision of health workers for 30 minutes,”said Evgenia Vorobyova, chief freelance specialist in vaccine prevention of the regional Ministry of Health.

The coronavirus vaccine, like any other, has its own contraindications. So, for example, vaccination against a dangerous virus will not be given to those who have an acute stage of any diseases, as well as exacerbation of chronic diseases.

For such patients, vaccination is possible only two to four weeks after complete recovery or remission. At the same time, it is noted that if any undesirable consequences for the body were identified after the first stage of the introduction of the coronavirus vaccine, then the second stage will not be carried out.

In addition, the vaccine has its own post-vaccination complications. These include chills, fever, headache, and decreased appetite.

As the experts explained, the first component includes a recombinant adenoviral vector based on serotype 26 human adenovirus, which carries the gene for the SARS-CoV-2 S-virus protein. The second component includes a vector based on human adenovirus serotype 5, which carries the gene for the same protein. The vaccine also has excipients: sucrose, two types of salt, ethanol 95%, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, polysorbate, water and the Tris chemical compound.

Recall that new cases of coronavirus infection are still being recorded in Primorye. According to the regional operational headquarters, over the past day in the region, 235 tests for COVID-19 gave a positive result. At the same time, 186 people were discharged from infectious diseases hospitals over the past 24 hours, who successfully underwent treatment.

In this regard, the high alert regime in Primorye continues to operate. For all residents and guests of the region, any visit to public places, as well as the use of public transport, is possible only with the use of masks and with respect to social distance.
