Noise, squeak and ringing in the ears are not always harmless phenomena; they often signal the presence of serious diseases: from hearing diseases to mental disorders.

Valeologist Nadezhda Chernyshova told Ridus about this. According to her, all kinds of noises are often observed in people with diabetes. Such people often hear how blood moves through the vessels.

Plus, they have more pronounced atherosclerosis, plus, as a complication of diabetes, there may be neuritis of the auditory nerve too. The sugar level itself does not cause noise in the ear, but diabetes aggravates the course of existing diseases, - said the therapist.

People with high blood pressure or with atherosclerosis can also hear blood flow in the vessels and their own pulse. However, according to the doctor, most often various noises are associated with diseases of the hearing organs. It can be associated with otitis media and irritation of the auditory nerve.

In addition, some mental illnesses can be associated with auditory hallucinations.

When a person complains to Laura that a mosquito is squeaking in his ear, then the doctor's task is to understand whether the patient really hears this sound caused by the reasons listed above, or it only seems to him due to his mental disorders, - said Chernyshova.

The therapist added that in any case, the appearance of any sounds in the ears is an indication to go to the doctor and be examined.

Previously, NEWS.ru wrote about the causes of high temperatures without signs of SARS. According to the therapist Anastasia Lukashik, the presence of a temperature above 39 degrees without symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections or pneumonia may indicate the presence of an acute viral and bacterial infection. The temperature rises when other symptoms of the disease have not yet had time to manifest.
