According to the regional health department, about 254 liters of anticoid plasma have already been transfused to the patients, and no cases of deterioration of their condition have been recorded. On the contrary, in most cases, there is an improvement in the condition against the background of ongoing therapy - thus, donors become true saviors of human lives.

450 ml of blood is taken from one donor, from which, after processing, from 250 to 270 ml of a therapeutic dose of anticoid plasma is obtained.

In the Volgograd region, they began to procure pathogen-reduced anticoid blood plasma immediately, after it was found that its transfusion could bring patients with COVID-19 to their feet. The Volgograd Regional Blood Center has special equipment that allows the use of blood components without mandatory four-month quarantine.

Anyone wishing to become a donor can receive detailed information at the Volgograd Regional Blood Center by calling (8442) 37-69-65. Calls are accepted daily on weekdays from 13.00 to 15.00 hours.

The situation with coronavirus infection in the region remains difficult. The need for donors is therefore very high.
