Boris Fenyuk, associate professor of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics at Moscow State University, told what leads to aging of the body and advised how to prolong youth.
On the air of Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, he explained that the aging rate of the human body depends on genes by one third, and another two thirds is the influence of lifestyle.
“When gerantologists are asked what to do to prolong youth, they give scientific advice. And this is all that our grandmothers once told us”.
At the same time, Fenyuk explained that the human body wears out and breaks down not only from oxygen, but also from high blood sugar.
“Therefore, you need to eat less sweets, especially with regard to sweet soda. And it is imperative to control blood glucose levels. There are special devices for this,”the scientist emphasized.
He also said that it has not yet been revealed whether gadgets affect aging. But it is advisable to use them less often, when it is really necessary, and "not to sit in them 24 hours a day."
The assistant professor also admitted that he has been studying people who have reached the biological limit for many years. For this, he specially traveled to Italy and talked with specialists who keep records of their centenarians - those people who are over 100 years old.
“We visited some of them and were surprised that many can take care of themselves. This is genetics. The ones we have had live in a small area in Italy. There are anomalously many of them. An order of magnitude more than in the country. Moreover, almost all centenarians have less burden of negative mutations. These are people with a good genome and an ordinary life,”concluded Fenyuk.
