Traumatologists of the Zelenograd City Hospital have successfully performed subtotal hip arthroplasty for a 95-year-old woman, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Nina Sergeevna Generalova.
The venerable patient, who was taken to the department of traumatology and orthopedics by the ambulance team, was diagnosed with a closed displaced fracture of the right femoral neck. It is deadly at her age: a woman who has lost the ability to walk could die from congestive pneumonia, cardiac decompensation, bedsores.
Having carefully prepared the patient for the operation, the doctors proceeded to subtotal endoprosthetics of the right hip joint. An elderly woman, who was under local anesthesia, was operated on by a traumatologist-orthopedist of the highest category Vladimir Nikolaevich Makeev, he was assisted by an orthopedic traumatologist Nikolai Mikhailovich Inozemtsev, an operating nurse Natalya Ivanovna Dmitrieva and an anesthesiologist Tatyana Nikolaevna Sevastyanova. Everything happened quickly and clearly: while Nina Sergeevna was sharing with the operating team the stories of her interesting life and military youth, the specialists successfully installed the implant.
The very next day, the doctors helped the patient to sit down. The recovery period lasted a little longer than usual, but very successfully. Nina Sergeevna was engaged in breathing exercises, carefully continued to sit down, get up and even walk. She is now at home and is gradually recovering.
