The governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, named man-made pollution due to human activities, natural activity and seismic activity as the main versions of what happened. Currently, there is still no official data on the analysis of the collected samples, and earlier experts said that natural factors are to blame. But now traces of man-made impact have still been found. The "Editorial" project published a video on its YouTube channel, in which it cited the conclusion of the laboratory of the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University, confirming the presence of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) in one of the samples. This substance, also known as heptyl, is a component of toxic rocket fuel. “It should be noted that the simultaneous detection of two main products of UDMH transformation in the water sample of Bolshaya Lagernaya Bay makes the assumption of the presence of UDMH in the initial water sample very convincing. However, for their unambiguous confirmation, it is necessary to take samples and preserve them according to the approved protocol. a more detailed study of water and soil samples from the area of ​​Bolshaya Lagernaya Bay and the surrounding area is necessary in order to confirm the presence of a spill of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine and reconnaissance delineation of the contaminated area, "reads the conclusion signed by the dean of the Faculty of Chemistry of Moscow State University, Professor Stepan Kalmykov. At the same time, the specialist made a reservation that traces of heptyl, which under natural conditions could not appear in the water, were found only in one of the 20 samples submitted for research, which requires further study of the situation in Kamchatka. Recall that water pollution in the water area of ​​Avachinsky Bay was noted not only in the area of ​​Khalaktyrsky beach, but also in the coastal areas of Malaya and Bolshaya Lagernye and Babya bays. Previously, the excess in water content was confirmed by about 2.5 times for phenols and 3.6 times for oil products.
