MOSCOW, November 5 - RIA Novosti. Everyone can become infected with the coronavirus, but genetic factors that can prevent infection are not excluded, the main manifestation of the disease is a temperature above 37.5, but it is not worth doing a CT scan at the first symptoms - leading experts of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation answered the most pressing questions about COVID-19 in the press center MIA "Russia Today".

Dmitry Lioznov, director of the Smorodintsev Influenza Research Institute, said that the risk of contracting COVID-19 exists for everyone, the population's susceptibility to the virus is high, but it is possible that there are some genetic factors that can prevent infection.

According to him, pets can also become infected with COVID-19, so it is better for sick people to limit contact with them.

The chief pulmonologist of the Ministry of Health Sergei Avdeev, in turn, said that tests for coronavirus give a false-negative result in about 30-40% of cases, but the problem is not in the tests themselves, but in the collection of material from the patient. At the same time, possible errors in tests with clinical manifestations of the disease do not affect the treatment of patients.

The main manifestation of coronavirus infection is a temperature above 37.5, it occurs in 90% of patients, weakness, fatigue and cough - in about 40%, headache - in 30%, Avdeev said.

He noted that no more than 20% of patients with coronavirus have respiratory failure or decreased blood oxygen saturation. At the same time, according to him, there is no need to buy a pulse oximeter, a device for measuring the level of oxygen in the blood, for home use, it is necessary for doctors to monitor the condition of patients and diagnose the disease.

Computed tomography of the lungs is not required for all patients with coronavirus infection - only a doctor can prescribe a study, patients with a mild or asymptomatic form do not need this type of diagnosis at all, said Igor Tyurin, chief specialist in radiation diagnostics of the Ministry of Health.

Oksana Drapkina, the chief physician of the Ministry of Health, spoke about the prevention of COVID-19 with the help of a vaccine: Sputnik V, due to its two-component nature, provides not only a quick, but also a long-term effect. Moreover, after vaccination, a person will not be contagious to other people.

According to Drapkina, the alternative to vaccination against coronavirus is to stay at home, not go out and not communicate with anyone, follow all preventive measures.
