The expert believes that people are not defenseless against COVID-19. The coronavirus pandemic continues in the world. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 50.9 million cases of infections have been recorded in the world today. Most infected in the United States (10.2 million), India (8.6 million) and Brazil (5.6 million). The second wave of COVID-19 has begun in many countries. Scientists are trying to unravel the mystery of antibodies to coronavirus - do all those who have been ill develop them, how long can they "work". In early November, Areg Totolyan, Director of the Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, shared his opinion on this matter. The expert said: "The fact that antibodies to coronavirus persist for up to 5 months is beyond doubt." TV presenter and doctor Elena Malysheva is in solidarity with her colleague. In her Instagram, she dedicated a separate post on this topic. Malysheva refers to the work of scientists who, since March 2020, have analyzed the immune response and its duration based on blood samples from donors over 18 years old who have had a mild or severe coronavirus (some people did not get sick or become infected). Malysheva summarizes the results of a study that confirm that antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus persist for at least 6 to 8 months after illness. 1. Antibodies to the new coronavirus persist for six months after infection. 2. After 6 months, they will decrease over the next 6-8 months. 3. At the moment of the beginning of a decrease in the level of antibodies, the number of memory cells that produce them increases. “These are special T and B lymphocytes. They are responsible for the fact that at the next meeting with the coronavirus, protective antibodies will appear in the body very quickly. That is, even if a year after the disease there are no antibodies in the blood, it does not matter ️ There are cells that will immediately produce them when they are needed,”Malysheva writes. 4. Antibodies are produced in all patients, regardless of the severity of the disease. 5. Between 25 and 50% of healthy people who have never been infected with SARS-CoV-2 have memory cells. These cells, in turn, are able to rapidly develop antibodies against the new SARS-CoV-2. In other words, many have cross-immunity against the new coronavirus. “We are not defenseless against a new infection! Many already have protection, even if they are not sick and do not have antibodies. The fear is in vain! We will win ️,”concluded Elena Malysheva. By the way, earlier Elena Malysheva spoke about a cheap remedy against coronavirus. According to official statistics, as of November 10, Russia registered 1,817,109 cases of coronavirus in 85 regions. Most infected in Moscow - 481,068 people for the entire period.
