The city authorities intend to get the river for temporary use to carry out work on deepening the channel, according to the press service of the city administration.
The Norilskaya River (Norilka) flows through the territory of Taimyr and the city of Norilsk. It flows out of Lake Melkoye and flows into Lake Pyasino. Due to a decrease in the level of the river, a high alert mode was introduced in the city.

The mayor's office of the city has prepared a list of documents for obtaining the river for temporary use, for carrying out work on deepening the bottom of the river. The documents were sent to the Yenisei Basin Water Administration, the regional Ministry of Ecology. Also, the issue should be agreed with the Ministry of Construction of the Territory and an assessment of biological resources in connection with the possible construction and operation of the dam.
According to the Civil Defense and Emergencies of Norilsk, now the water level in the area of the first water intake is 12.96 m, the level for limiting water consumption is 11.5 m, and the pump stops are 11 m. Monitoring of the water level in the river continues, it has stabilized in recent days and has a positive trend.
