In 15 sanatoriums of the Stavropol resort city of Essentuki, rehabilitation programs have been opened for patients who have undergone coronavirus infection. To this end, the health resorts purchased special equipment and developed rehabilitation programs.

“In Yessentuki, 15 sanatoriums work according to rehabilitation programs for post-like patients. Essentuki health resorts developed the first rehabilitation programs back in June. For the effectiveness of the rehabilitation course, special equipment was also purchased,”the press service of the city administration said.

In particular, the Shakhtar sanatorium purchased the Prokislorod apparatus, the first in the North Caucasus, which saturates the blood with oxygen and helps to quickly restore the lung and heart systems. Rehabilitation programs are also used in the Victoria sanatorium, which has its own pulmonology center and proven practices for treating pulmonary patients.

A number of health resorts have introduced new physiotherapeutic technologies, offer various types of baths and therapeutic showers, hydromassage, a room for steam-carbonic baths, and a salt mine. Also, methods have been developed to restore the respiratory system, the musculoskeletal system, and hyperbaric oxygenation sessions are used. Special natural factors, climatic conditions and the Essentuki mineral water make the process of rehabilitation after coronavirus infection faster and more effective.

Earlier it was reported that the Essentuki sanatoriums accepted about three thousand people who have undergone coronavirus for rehabilitation. Some of them were treated on an outpatient basis.
