Oleg Deripaska's GAZ Group announced the inclusion of strategic enterprises with a high share of government orders in the priority vaccination plan. According to the president of the company Vadim Sorokin, the difficult epidemiological situation causes delays in the execution of orders.
“The scale of the epidemic is now higher than it was in the spring. It's good that now there is no lockdown and the enterprises are working, but we ourselves are forced to make adjustments to the work due to the virus. We took serious security measures, investing about 1.5 billion rubles in them, changed technological processes to minimize contacts, and created our own laboratory for testing for coronavirus infection. But we cannot avoid contamination of employees from the outside. We must protect not only vulnerable categories of citizens, but also the stability of the economy. Moreover, I am talking specifically about vaccination not of managers, but of workers directly employed on conveyors,”he said.
The main challenge of 2020 for the company was the fall in the automotive market, a shortage of working capital, financial losses from forced downtime during the spring lockdown and difficulties with the timely execution of government contracts against the backdrop of restrictions.
“The most important measures of state support that GAZ Group could count on in 2020 are government purchases, the possibility of postponing the implementation of government contracts, the implementation of which is difficult due to the impact of the pandemic, as well as lending to replenish working capital and subsidies to reimburse financial losses from forced downtime ", - said Sorokin.
He also proposed to submit to the government for consideration a proposal to extend the program of state purchases of socially significant automotive equipment for hospitals and schools for the next year.
