Orthodox Christians have begun Lent, and many are thinking about a balanced and modest menu. Adept of a healthy lifestyle, culinary specialist and blogger Maria Kravtsova has not yet decided whether she will adhere to food restrictions, but she knows exactly what should not be done during this period.
If you decide to keep Lent, you should remember that this period was not invented as a diet and you should not use this time for the purpose of losing weight. Fasting is more of a reminder that you need to do good for others, do less and give up bad habits, and not exhaust yourself with hunger strikes.
A supporter of healthy eating, blogger and author of cookbooks Maria Kravtsova is not yet sure whether she will observe Great Lent, but she shared her thoughts on this matter. The star admitted that for her this time is not only about food, and at the moment she does not feel that she is one hundred percent ready for this period. However, it can be used to unload the body - to cleanse and improve well-being. During these weeks, Maria is sure, you can get rid of many addictions.
“The main thing is not to repeat the mistake of some fasting people - a lot of carbohydrates and little protein in the diet. Therefore, sometimes during fasting someone gains, but does not lose weight. Giving up meat does not mean switching to potatoes, pasta and cereals - do not forget about vegetables. And with sports, you also need to be more careful: if the load is the same with such restrictions in food, the body will have a hard time."
Kravtsova asked subscribers if they would fast? The majority answered in the negative, but there are those who decided to stick to the rules of fasting. Therefore, suitable recipes will be especially relevant these weeks. For example, a selection of lean soups - delicious, beautiful and hearty, will definitely come in handy.
