A good figure, good health, saving money. There are many positive consequences of being freed from food addiction, but not all people are able to get rid of the cravings for overeating. And the reason for this lies not at all in the characteristics of the organism, but rather in the field of the human psyche.

I want to warn you that more than 3 billion people, that is, every third inhabitant of the planet, suffer from problems related to food today. Of none × 1.3 billion people are overweight and obese people, another 800 million people are people suffering from bulimia, anorexia, dystrophy and various psychological disorders associated with food.

Improper nutrition is a very serious problem, which is much worse than alcoholism, drug addiction, coffee addiction. We eat food every day and several times a day, it is impossible to refuse food, like alcohol and drugs. Misperception of food, which results in eating disorders, overeating and being overweight, is very dangerous in its consequences. More people died from nutritional problems than from alcoholism, drug addiction and military conflicts.

People don't understand that food addiction creates serious illnesses. For example, the same excess weight is perceived only as a consequence of improper nutrition, which can be eliminated or not eliminated at will. But exercise, and fitness, and dieting are self-medication, which is also very dangerous.

Eating disorders of the individual do not occur by accident. Someone "seizes" their stresses, fears, complexes, someone cannot stop due to improper organization of their lifestyle. But numerous examples of people who have overcome bulimia indicate that there are no unsolvable problems. Among people suffering from food addiction there are famous actors, musicians, politicians, businessmen. So you are not alone. And if you really want to cope with the constant urge to overeat, then you will succeed, the main thing is to act correctly. And then food addiction will be defeated.

New Year is a great reason to start life from scratch, trying to give up old bad habits, get rid of bulimia. What is needed for this? First of all, like any treatment, relief from food addiction begins with the recognition of the fact of the problem. Without being afraid to admit to yourself, you need to indicate that you suffer from bulimia.

The next step is to find the cause of the eating disorder. Food addiction does not arise by itself, it is a consequence of our desire to protect ourselves from some problems, possibly the result of childhood psychological trauma, lack of confidence in our attractiveness, social disorder.

There is the phenomenon of cravings - an irresistible, uncontrollable desire to enjoy food - just like an alcoholic’s desire for alcohol and a drug addict’s desire for drugs. The phenomenon of cravings is formed when a person restricts himself in food, and then when a person after restriction gets the opportunity to eat something in which he has limited himself, he gets especially significant pleasure.

The repetition of this process takes place in any case, since the person still breaks down to get “forbidden pleasure”. When cravings are formed, we become addicted, obsessed. The brain has a new quality - obsession, anxiety, excessive attention. We start to eat even more often, we gain even more weight, damaging our health and life in general. This is how food addiction is formed.

If you understand what exactly led you to overeating, then you can say that you are already 50% close to healing from food addiction. Next, we just need to increase our self-esteem. In fact, there is nothing shameful and humiliating in food addiction, in excessive completeness, this is a problem that can and should be dealt with, but the very fact of its presence does not make you an unworthy person.

One of the most important ways to improve self-esteem is self-improvement, both physical and intellectual. An active lifestyle, playing sports, attending cultural events, reading books - all this contributes to filling your life with meaning and, as a result, increasing self-esteem.

The second most important path is social recognition. Get yourself an interesting activity that could guarantee you an attractive social circle, gain authority in a certain area. And you yourself will not notice how you begin to love yourself and get rid of the addiction to overeating.

Diet plays a very important role. You need to give up harmful foods, try to eat less food, especially one that does not saturate, but gives an incentive to eat more and more. For example, on just one consumption of mayonnaise in salads, we can gain up to 1 kg per year, especially after 30-35 years old, when the body begins to function more slowly.

The most important thing is to develop a sense of awareness in yourself, to understand that overeating is harmful and dangerous, and having realized this, to control your behavior in such a way as to avoid the very possibility of overeating. A conscious approach to nutrition assumes that we eat for saturation, to maintain the vital functions of the body, and not in order to actually enjoy the food. Naturally, you will have to understand and what products most of all develop in you cravings for overeating and give up them. Having developed a conscious approach, a person is guaranteed to get rid of food addiction, having achieved those results that would never have been given by either diet, sports activity, or the use of any biologically active additives and drugs.
