According to nutritionist Elena Solomatina, the body absorbs drinks that contain caffeine worst of all in the summer.

- This is the favorite coffee, tea, energy drinks - all of them instead of saturating our cells with liquid and nutrient medium, on the contrary, remove water, thereby dehydrating the body.

Solomatina does not recommend using these drinks, but if coffee lovers still cannot deny themselves a cup of their favorite drink, then each drink should be accompanied by two glasses of drinking water.

It is also a mistake that some people think that beer, lemonade, or any sweet carbonated drink is an excellent thirst quencher.

- Beer and the listed products have a high glycemic index, which raises blood sugar levels, and sometimes can even cause loss of consciousness. Another danger is alcohol, which is contained in this intoxicating drink. In case of heat, this combination can cause an irreparable blow to the body. Even non-alcoholic beer, I do not recommend drinking, because all these drinks are diuretic and simply remove water from the body, - said the nutritionist.

An alternative to all these drinks, according to Solomatina, can be kvass.

- This is a drink to all drinks. It perfectly quenches thirst, has useful properties, but it is better, of course, to buy unsweetened varieties of kvass and natural fermentation, so as not to increase hemoglobin again,”the doctor warned.

Ayran, kefir and kombucha are also excellent means of quenching thirst. But it is best to eat fresh fruits and vegetables in the hot season, and use only one drink - clean table water.
