"As part of the vaccination campaign against influenza this year, we plan to vaccinate 60% of the population of the Altai Territory - 1 407 839 people. The vaccine was delivered to the region in several stages, we are still waiting for the last batch. Today, more than a million people have been vaccinated, this is 85% of the planned date ", - explained the chief epidemiologist of the Altai Territory Irina Pereladova.
According to her, currently no cases of influenza have been registered in the region. According to the observations of doctors, in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, residents of the Altai Territory are more actively vaccinated against influenza.
“It is gratifying to note that this year many elderly people and chronic patients are willing to go for vaccinations. Moreover, taking into account the experience of past years, they have begun to wonder since spring when the flu vaccine will arrive at the polyclinic. In the current epidemiological situation, this is extremely important, because influenza weakens the immune system and contributes not only to the exacerbation of chronic, but also to the development of viral diseases,”said Vera Karpova, head of the therapeutic department of the city polyclinic 3 in Barnaul.
As reported by IA REGNUM, for the week from November 23 to November 29, 2020, 18.2 thousand cases of ARVI were registered in the region, which is at the level of 2019.
