
Pregnant and lactating women should not be vaccinated with the Kovivac coronavirus vaccine, according to the instructions for the drug. It is posted on the website of the state register of medicines.
"Contraindications: pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding," - said in the instructions.
It states that the efficacy and safety of the vaccine during this period has not been studied.
The use of the drug is contraindicated in case of serious reactions after its administration, including an increased temperature (above 40 degrees), edema more than eight centimeters in diameter, as well as with complications such as shock, which is observed within two days after vaccination. The medicine should also not be used by people who have had convulsions in any previous vaccination.
Severe allergy sufferers and children under 18 cannot be vaccinated with Kovivac. “Temporary contraindications: chronic infectious diseases in the acute stage. Vaccination is carried out during the period of remission,”the instructions say.
The decision to vaccinate these people should be made by a doctor. It is noted that the interval between the introduction of the first and second doses of the drug is two weeks.
