On the eve of the summer season, Moscow dermatologists told how to care for the skin of the legs and nails and maintain their health, the press service of the Moscow health department said.
“Try to wear open-toed shoes made from natural materials in the summer. In case of cold weather, wear appropriate footwear: feet should be dry and warm,”the experts say.
Doctors also advise to strengthen immunity, because if immunity is reduced, then you can get infected with diseases of the skin and nails in any public place, including in transport.
Change your socks once or twice a day. Do not wear the same footwear every day; it must be ventilated and disinfected using special ultraviolet devices.
“Follow daily hygiene, dry your feet thoroughly, use only a personal towel. Do self-examinations on a regular basis, paying particular attention to the folds of skin between the toes,”add the dermatologists.
To improve blood circulation and maintain skin tone, you need to regularly do gymnastics for the feet, for example, picking up small objects from the floor with your toes, rolling a bottle of water with your foot, walking on the inner and outer edge of the foot. It is helpful to do simple exercises: stretch up on your toes, then transfer your body weight to your heels, pulling tense socks up.
The elderly, athletes, people with diabetes should additionally use an antifungal cream for prevention. If one of the family members suffers from mycosis, then the rest of the household should wear socks or house shoes, they will have to wash their clothes at temperatures above 60 degrees.
Doctors do not recommend walking barefoot in the pool, steam bath, sauna, hotel room. In the apartment, they advise regularly cleaning carpets, upholstered furniture, as well as wet cleaning.
